Dental bridge is a great way to replace missing teeth. It closes the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up by two or more crowns adjacent to the gap on each side with a false tooth/teeth in between. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or dental implants. Few benefits of placing a dental bridge include restoring a smile, restoring the ability to speak and chew properly, maintain the shape of your face and prevent adjacent teeth from drifting out of their positions.
Getting a bridge typically takes two visits: preparation or recontouring the teeth along with taking an impression for the final work and cementing a final bridge during the appointment in about two weeks later. After the teeth have been recontoured, the dentist will place a temporary bridge to protect exposed teeth and gums.
